A Look into the Viral “Icy-n-Spicy” Shop
Passion, style, and innovation– Icy-n-Spicy truly has it all. Garnering over 2.3 million followers on TikTok, this dessert shop has become a viral sensation, and it’s located right here in Miami! The first location opened in April of 2019 as a small, family-owned business. Since then, the company has seen significant growth.
This year, the shop opened its second location in Miramar, and the new locale did not disappoint. From the moment you step inside, you’re transported into a vibrant, hunger-inducing candyland. The walls are coated in pink, the roof is painted with sprinkles, the furniture is vibrant and bold– and there are more than a few places to take Instagram-worthy photographs.
More important than the beautifully crafted, though, is the mouth-watering menu. Each recipe is unique to the establishment, and the final product appears to have been scooped right out of the photograph! The staff wastes no expense, the decorations are beautifully over the top, and extremely exciting.
Making use of famous candy bars, the shop offers milkshakes made of Ferrero Rocher, KitKats, and even Kinder. Still, their unique flavours of Strawberry Marshmallow, Dulce de Leche, and Red Velvet look and taste just as amazing. Of course, the store offers more than just milkshakes. Unique flavors of spicy ice cream, filled cotton candy, strawberry cups, and other goodies are available for purchase.
Personally, I tried the Ferrero Rocher milkshake. The display looked amazing, with full-sized versions of the actual chocolate being featured, along with chocolate straws and a decorative ring of peanuts.
The taste, of course, was super sweet and unique. The drink was rich in chocolate, but not entirely overwhelming. The whipped cream also tasted great, more like light icing than anything else. The taste and display made the drink a solid 9/10, though I wish there had been smaller sizes– beware the sweetness of sweets.
What most stuck out about the shop, however, was its use of viral trends to stay on top of the game. The shop recently introduced “viral Asian 3D ice-creams” and Dubai Chocolate flavors to its menus. It even went as far as to host a Labubu event with costumed actors.
The company’s marketing strategies are insanely innovative, encouraging collaborations with YouTubers, TV shows, and more. Most notably, the shop was featured on shows like 90 Day Fiance and Netflix’s Designing Miami. Trends are used throughout all of their social media accounts alongside videos showcasing their viral-themed products.
It’s these strategies that took Icy-n-Spicy from a small family-owned business to the incredible sensation it is today. Combined with the amount of effort put into each product and the bright, alluring layout of the store, Icy-n-Spicy has earned each bit of attention it gets.
