“This piece is one I created for my AP Drawing Class. My sustained investigation explores the emotional impact of my father’s absence and the transformation that followed our reconnection. I narrate my life before and after calling him for the first time, reflecting both the tension of being between two parents and the joy of being with both. Through fragmented imagery, symbolic contrasts, and reconstructed memories, I create visual ‘glue’ for the moments I never had, shaping my own happy ending while examining identity, belonging, and healing.”
