Take a deep breath, relax, simmer down, and move on; save the tears for another time because everything happens for a reason. It is not the end of the world and you will live. There are other ways to reach your goals and crying over spilt milk isn\u2019t going to do you any good.<\/p>\n
Just because a school is your first choice and at the top of your list doesn\u2019t necessarily mean it\u2019s the best school for you. Future employers will care more about what you did with the education you were given \u2013 the way you proved yourself and showed passion \u2013 than the rank of the school you went to.<\/p>\n
\u201cAlthough I didn\u2019t get accepted into the school I wanted to, I applied to various other schools to which I did get accepted,\u201d said Julianne Ramos, a senior at MLEC. \u201cBeing rejected from my dream school opened doors to other opportunities I hadn\u2019t noticed before.\u201d<\/p>\n
However you put it, rejection sucks, but there\u2019s nothing you can do about it. It\u2019s not personal. Every year, Harvard rejects students with perfect SAT scores and perfect GPAs. It doesn\u2019t mean that you have any reason to curl up in a ball and spiral down into depression. Failure is inescapable. Many successful people failed before succeeding. Don\u2019t doubt yourself over a school that made a mistake in not choosing you. It\u2019s their loss. With or without that dream college, you will end up where you need to be.<\/p>\n
Melissa Mella, a forensic senior at Miami Lakes Educational Center, was one to receive that dreadful rejection letter.<\/p>\n
\u201cWell my dream school was actually the University of Chicago. Although I knew that it was a long shot, it would\u2019ve been amazing to have gotten accepted,\u201d she said. \u201cWhen I saw the rejection letter I felt sad and a bit discouraged, but I knew that more opportunities would be coming my way.\u201d Melissa still doesn\u2019t know what school she\u2019ll be going to as she is still nervously waiting for decisions.<\/p>\n
