With yet another school year at Miami Lakes Educational Center (MLEC), students have gotten ready by gathering the essential school supplies and preparing for another fantastic year. The right tools can set the tone for a successful year. Basic necessities include sturdy notebooks and binders for organization, reliable pens, pencils, and highlighters for note-taking and studying, and a laptop or tablet to keep up with digital assignments. A durable backpack is crucial for carrying everything, while a planner helps keep track of deadlines and activities. For those tackling higher-level math, a graphing calculator is a must, and a reusable water bottle ensures students stay hydrated throughout the day.

Students at MLEC though, all approach school shopping in a variety of ways. Gabriela Moreno focuses on getting supplies that are both functional and reflect her personal style. She enjoys picking out notebooks with fun designs, colorful pens, and a stylish yet practical backpack that suits her look.

“I start my school shopping early to make sure I have everything I need,” Gabriela explains. “I love picking out notebooks with fun designs and colorful pens because it makes my schoolwork feel more enjoyable. I also make sure to find a backpack that’s both stylish and practical, with enough space for all my supplies. Plus, I always carry a small makeup bag with essentials like lip balm and hair ties to stay prepared throughout the day.”

Angelo Rojas, on the other hand, takes a no-nonsense approach. He prioritizes efficiency and practicality, choosing only the essential supplies like notebooks, pens, and a reliable laptop. Angelo isn’t concerned with the designs or brands of his supplies; he just wants to ensure that everything is functional and durable.

“I keep my school shopping simple,” Angelo Rojas says. “I focus on getting just the basics, some notebooks, pens, and a reliable laptop. I don’t worry about designs or brands; I just want practical, durable supplies that I can count on.”

Both Gabriela’s attention to style and detail and Angelo’s focus on practicality highlight the different ways MLEC students prepare for the school year. Whether you prioritize personalization or efficiency, the key is to gather the tools that will help you succeed!
