Testing Season is Approaching! Do You Know When You Test?

By Edisleibys Cuesta

As testing season approaches, students taking AICE and AP courses are entering one of the most important times of the school year. With exams earning college credits, GPA boosts and academic recognition, preparation matters more than ever. The difference between feeling overwhelmed and feeling confident often stems from how effectively you start prepping.

“Testing is stressful, however, it’s doable if you know the right strategies to succeed not just studying,” said senior Daynian Arias.

AICE exams, administered by Cambridge, an international, college-level curriculum and examination program from Cambridge University, designed for high school students to earn advanced academic standing or college credit. And AP exams, run by the College Board, standardized, college-level tests administered every May, designed to measure mastery of specific high school AP courses.

Both of these examinations require not just memorization, but analysis, and time management. Cramming the night before won’t help you pass these tests, you need to actually comprehend the material.

“You need to be prepared if you genuinely are looking to pass these tests, they are hard work but with studying it is 100% possible,” said senior Ernesto Sanchez.
