Thomas Farrugia: Editor-in-Chief

Thomas Farrugia is a 2026 senior, an avid writer, and a huge musical theater fan. As our Editor-in-Chief, he focuses on helping journalism students shape their writing through workshops and feedback. He first stumbled into the position in his junior year and continues to work on improving the Harbinger every day.
Sebastian Sanchez: Co Editor-in-Chief

Sebastian Sanchez is has always loved storytelling, this eventually led to a love for writing as a way to express these stories and ideas. Sebastian now enjoys writing articles, stories, and songs. As Co Editor-in-Chief, Sebastian manages the Harbinger website while also guiding and helping other students with their own writing. His dream is to become a successful author and artist.

Sabrina Alonso: Junior Editor

I’m Sabrina Alonso the podcast coordinator and junior editor for the Harbinger Newspaper. My goal is to increase awareness about different topics I’m truly passionate about through my writing and podcasts. The summer of 2024, I was accepted into the UM Podcast Camp, where I learned how to make and publish podcasts of my own. I was offered the opportunity to become the first podcast coordinator of the Harbinger, because of both my experience and my desire to do more for the Journalism strand. I definitely hope to make a lasting impact through all my work!
Andrinika Aimable: Social Media Manager

Andrinika Aimable serves as the Social Media Manager for The Harbinger. She’s passionate about storytelling and how media shapes the way people think, feel, and connect. Her love for reading and writing naturally led her to explore journalism and digital media, where she enjoys finding creative ways to engage audiences. In her role, Andrinika manages The Harbinger’s online presence, blending creativity with strategy to showcase the publication’s voice and vision. Outside of her work, she loves discovering new books, analyzing trends, and learning how media continues to evolve in the digital age.
Isabella Chavez: Photo Essay Editor/ Artists of MLEC Manager

Hiya, I work for the Harbinger newspaper! I mainly manage artists of MLEC as well as editing photo essays. I got my positions through my passion for both photography and art, and I’m very proud of it.
